Privacy Policy

Throwback Media, LLC publishes Always In The Club and runs this site. The print editions sold here and the Master Digital Archive are sold by Always In The Club Foundation through its own store, so anything to do with one of those orders goes to the Foundation.

The eBook and the B&W Paperback (Standard) are sold on Amazon. If you buy one there, Amazon collects your details and neither the Foundation nor the publisher ever sees your address or your payment information. Amazon holds that under its own privacy notice, not this one.

Below, “we” means whichever of the two holds the information in question, and the sections say which one that is. Neither of us is an advertising company. We do not sell your information, and we never have.

What we collect

When you join the mailing list

Your email address, and your name if you give it. That is all the form asks for.

When you order a book

Your name, shipping address, billing address, email address, and phone number if you provide one. Orders placed through the store on this site go to Always In The Club Foundation, and the Foundation is what holds them.

Payment is handled by Shopify and its payment processors. Your full card number never reaches the Foundation and nobody here can see it. What we see is the order, the last four digits, and whether it was paid.

When you just read the site

The site runs on Throwback Media’s hosting, which records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. These are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any tracking that follows you to other sites.

Embedded content from other companies

Parts of this site are supplied by other companies and load inside it. Each one can set its own cookies and keep its own records once it loads, under its own privacy policy rather than this one.

• Shopify runs the Foundation’s store, including the buy buttons and the checkout for every edition sold here.
• Sender runs the mailing list signup form.
• FlipHTML5 runs the sneak peek reader.
• YouTube hosts the video clips. These are set to YouTube’s no-cookie mode and do not load at all until you click play.
• Vercel hosts the site itself.

What we do with it

We use your information to fill your order, answer your questions, and send the emails you asked for. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. We share it only with the companies above that need it to do their part, and when the law requires it.

Email

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. If you would rather write to us, use the address below and we will take care of it.

Buying a book does not put you on the mailing list. Those are separate, and we will send you order and shipping notices either way because you need them.

Your choices

Write to us at any time and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting your information may mean we lose the record of an order, so if a book is still on its way, say so and we will wait until it arrives.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including in California, in other states with privacy statutes, and in the United Kingdom and the European Union. We handle every request the same way regardless of where you are, so you do not need to cite a statute to us.

Children

This site is meant for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS and payment card data is handled by Shopify, not by us. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information we will tell you.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Substantial changes will be announced to the mailing list.
